Easy Homemade Granola

About the Recipe

Cool completely before adding optional dried fruit like cranberries. Serve with yogurt for a quick breakfast

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup neutral oil- I use canola

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

  • pinch of salt

  • 8 cups of old-fashioned oats

  • 1-2 cups sliced almonds

Preparation

Heat oven to 375º.


In saucepan over medium heat combine oil, honey, brown sugar, vanilla and salt. Stir carefully until heated through. In very large bowl combine oats and nuts.


Pour warm oil mixture over oat mix and stir until fully coated. Spread on a parchment lined sheet pan and bake for between 15-25 minutes.


Stir several times so the oats get evenly toasted on all sides.


Cool completely before adding optional dried fruit. Store in air tight container for 3 weeks.
